Some of the top anglers in the north are converging on Kapuskasing this weekend for the annual Kapuskasing River Walleye Tournament. Activities begin on Friday with a practice round, followed by two days of competition. One-hundred and ten of the best anglers will be taking part at the tournament which is part of the Northern Ontario Walleye Trail.

Chairman Don McInnis says they filled all of the entries back in December, and notes that the stop is becoming very popular because it is now part of the trail where competitors can we a boat for winning the most events.

McInnis says that the local anglers and fans are invited to the Sports Palace where the headquarters is set up to hangout and rub shoulders with the anglers.

He adds that weigh-ins will take place on Saturday at 4 pm and Sunday at 3 pm at the Freddy Flat Bridge and fans are also more than welcome to watch the boats come in.
