The Donat Brousseau Pool is gaining some added accessibility.
Council has agreed to purchase a Portable Aquatic Lift for the pool at a cost of $7,205.
CAO Guylain Baril says the lift will be used to assist swimmers in and out of the water, something they have no ability to do without the lift.
Baril says their current lift, purchased back in 2002, ran across issues back in February, and they have no supplier available to make the needed repairs on the unit which recently completely failed them in September.
He says the newly purchased lift is slightly smaller and therefore easier to move than the previous around the deck of the pool. It also has an increased weight capacity as well as can be used independently by a swimmer.
Baril also says if a new pool is built by the town down the road, this can be transferred to the new location.
