The Canadian Revenue Agency will never call you over the phone to alert you of an issue with your taxes.
That’s according to Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing MP Carol Hughes, who says too many seniors in Northern Ontario are being swindled by fraudsters claiming to be from the CRA.
Hughes says the CRA does not ever call you for information; they will instead physically email you.
She says any calls regarding finances or taxes should only be made by you.
All taxes across the country must be completed by or on April 30th.
