Man Charged For Unmarked Cigarettes After Collision On Highway 11

The police have arrested and charged a Sturgeon Falls man for possession of unmarked cigarettes.

Officers from the Kapuskasing Detachment of the OPP responded to a call around 1:00pm on Thursday, November 23rd of a crash on Highway 11 just west of Kapuskasing.

Police who arrived on scene came to the conclusion that the pickup truck collided with the tractor-trailer causing the spill of thousands of cigarettes.

Officers then seized the trailer of unmarked cigarettes, which had an approximate value of over $100,000.

Police then arrested the driver of the pickup, a 60-year-old Sturgeon Falls man, on two charges of possession of unmarked cigarettes and one count of attempting to pass on an unclear roadway.

The accused is set to appear at court in Kapuskasing on April 11th, 2018.
