Healthy Aging Expo Supplying Early Flu Shots For Seniors

If you are a senior citizen living in Kapuskasing the Porcupine Health Unit would like to remind you to get your flu shot.

Public Health Nurse Louise Gaulin says that the Healthy Aging Expo taking place Tuesday, October 24th the PHU will be present and supplying the influenza vaccine for seniors.

Gaulin says anyone at or above the age of 65 can come in to receive their flu shot free of charge.

She says getting your flu shot free of charge should be a must, as the influenza virus can be highly contagious.

Gaulin says the PHU encourages everyone to receive their flu vaccine, especially those with high risk of complications from influenza, particularly young children between the ages of 6 months and 5 years, pregnant women, people with chronic health conditions and those 65 and over.

The Healthy Aging Expo will stop in Kapuskasing on Tuesday, October 24th at the Civic Centre from 10:00am until 4:00pm.
