Hearst Forest Contingency Plan Approved By MNRF

A two-year provisional plan for the Hearst forest has been officially approved.

As of this past week the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry, Hearst Forest Management and the Hearst Local Citizen Committees’ 2017-2019 contingency plan for the Hearst Forest was approved by the MNRF Regional Director.

Planning and Operations for Hearst Forest Management Brian Ekstrom says the short-term proposal will speed up the process for their overall 2017-2027 Forest Management Plan.

Ekstrom says the plan has accounted for all facets of forest management.
