Faculty from across 24 public colleges in Ontario have voted in favour of a strike mandate.
Senior Vice-President of Corporate Services at College Boreal Danielle Talbot-Larieiere says the vote means that should upcoming contract talks fail to conclude in an agreement by September 30th, there will be a work stoppage.
Talbot-Larieiere says this has forced the college into preparing for the possibility of a lost week or two of classes.
She says they have a communication plan prepared if a work stoppage is to take place.
Negotiations resumed earlier this week on the collective agreement, no strike or lockout deadline has been set as of yet.
