Kapuskasing Recognized For Their Donation To PET Scanner Fund In Sudbury

The town of Kapuskasing has been recognized by the Northern Cancer Foundation for their continued support.

Kapuskasing was honoured at council Monday with a plaque recognizing their $50,000 contribution to the P.E.T. Scanner Fund for Sudbury.

Chair of Finance Dave Plourde says that the town is very pleased by the honour, but it comes as no surprise as they have always been a leader in the north.

Plourde says their donation is quite a substantial one for a town their size, which is why the recognition is very much appreciated.

The P.E.T. scanner that is currently expected to be completely installed in Sudbury by 2018 will allow doctors to check a patient for any diseases within their organs and tissues.
