Funding Boost Announced For Francophone Entrepreneurs

Francophone entrepreneurs in Hearst have received a nice financial boost from the government.

On Tuesday morning at the Hearst and Area Economic Development Corporation, Parliamentary Secretary David Lametti made an important announcement for businesses in the north.

Lametti announced a government investment of just over $72,000 in the HAED to further business mentorship and coaching for Francophone entrepreneurs.

He says the investment will help these entrepreneurs grow and compete more in their markets.

Lametti says the other major reason for the visit was to begin consultation on their strategy for northern growth and prosperity.

He says, in the end, the discussions over his two-day tour of Hearst and Timmins will guide how the federal government invests within the region moving forward.
