Sensenbrenner Hospital is receiving a boost for repairs and upgrades from the province.
Ontario is trying to strengthen its hospitals in Northeastern Ontario with repairs and upgrades being funded for twenty different hospitals across the area.
Overall, $175 million was placed into the provincial Health Infrastructure and Renewal Funding, while hospitals in the North East LHIN have received $9.7 million of that total.
Sensenbrenner Hospital in Kapuskasing will receive a portion of the funding totalled at $183,500 for improvements or replacements to things like heating and air conditioning, fire alarms and back-up generators to name a few.
The hope is that in the end the repairs and upgrades will help increase the access to care, reducing wait times and improving the overall patient experience.
