Kapuskasing’s Sears Hometown Store will not be going anywhere fast.
Sears Canada had filed for creditor protection this past week and was forced to close 59 stores, and lay off over 2900 employees.
Vice-President for Sears Canada Vincent Power says operations in Kapuskasing however, are still a go.
Power says since the grand re-opening back on May 27th, owner Chris Rody and his staff have performed terrifically in serving the residents of Kapuskasing and the surrounding area.
He says the Kapuskasing location will remain open despite the outcome of the restructuring process for Sears.
