Council took a small step in deciding whether to further fund the Demonstration Farm.
Kapuskasing Councillors made their way to the farm early Wednesday morning in order to receive a walk through from Andrew Gordanier, who runs the farm.
Chair of Protective Services Martin Dinnissen says going on-site Wednesday helped to answer a few of council’s concerns regarding the $180,000 request for funding.
Dinnissen says that the town’s lack of funds has put a real restraint on council’s ability to support local initiatives.
Dinnissen says at the current time they have granted $60,000 in funding to the farm for a new fence.
He says due to their financial troubles, council will take their time following their visit with Gordanier to discuss the remaining requested funds.
