Rising Energy Prices Across the Northeast

The rising energy cost battle has been brought up once again within the provincial government. Ontario PC Energy Critic Todd Smith says the current hydro rates are disastrous, especially in the northern region.

Smith says that in Timmins for example, the municipal electricity budget has gone up over $1-million from almost $4-million to over $5-million.

He also says the Wynne Liberals need to do something to fix the problem.

Smith says he recently toured the Northeast and the biggest issue across the region is the rising cost of hydro.

Calls to the Premier’s Office for comments have not yet been answered.
