When it comes to toll booths, the MPP for Nipissing says the province dodged a bullet.
Earlier Premier Kathleen Wynne supported Toronto’s request to install tolls on the Don Valley Parkway and Gardiner Expressway. But Vic Fedeli says when this angered people, the Premier did a 180.
Fedeli says the Tories opposed tolls from day one and are taking some of the credit for the Premier changing her mind.
Fedeli also says had the tolls gone ahead, it would have set a dangerous precedent. That’s because other communities would try to charge people driving into their cities to work and using their roadways.
